Account and Data Deletion
How to Request Deletion
Open KhataLedger, log in with the mobile number associated with your business account, and use Settings > Help & Privacy > Request account deletion. This helps us verify that the request is coming from the account owner or an authorised business admin.
If you cannot log in, use the Contact Us page and include your registered mobile number, business name, and reason for deletion.
Data Deleted
- User profile details linked to the account, including name, role, and login mobile number.
- Business profile data created by the account or tenant.
- Parties, ledger entries, transaction notes, reports, and uploaded bill images associated with the account or business workspace.
- Local app session data is removed when the user logs out or uninstalls the app.
Data That May Be Retained
Some records may be retained only where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, tax/accounting, dispute handling, or payment/refund audit obligations.
- Payment and subscription records may be retained for statutory and gateway reconciliation requirements.
- Security logs may be retained for a limited period to protect users and investigate abuse.
- Backups may take additional time to expire through normal backup rotation.
Processing Timeline
We acknowledge deletion requests within 72 hours. After verification, eligible account and associated data deletion is completed within 30 days unless a longer retention period is legally required.
